Prominent times of yesteryear give shape and meaning to our present day. In the 1970s, Certina impressed the world with legendary models such as the DS 2-Chronolympic, worthy companion to the toughest of scientific and sporting expeditions. Three decades later, the Swiss watchmaker launches a dynamic new line for men, based on these mythical forebears. The new DS Royal brings sporty elegance into a stylish, classical realm, uniting harmonies of polished and satin finishes, black or natural steel, seizing the glance through bold, dynamic lines and sober geometrics.
The new Certina DS Royal chrono is built around the same values which made those early models famous. The spirit of 'retro' lives on, through a very modern look that combines sporty and classical elements, so popular today.
The famed elongated shape remains, while its profile comes of age with innovative and spirited harmonies, of satin or bright stainless-steel surfaces, interplays of polished or matte finish bevels, sometimes with black details on the crown protection or on the PVD bezel, equipped with clear tachymeter markings. In reminiscence of motor-sport control gauges, time is displayed over clear, straightforward graphic elements.
Chrono counter markings are shown through hands in red, for minutes, seconds and tenths of seconds. The DS Royal can be obtained with a maroon watch strap, for a more retro appeal, or with a stainless-steel bracelet, for a more dynamic, sporty personality. This spirited timepiece is also available in a silver-colour dial version with black chrono counters, and with either a black watch strap or a stainless-steel bracelet.
