Frederique Constant was established in its current from in 1988 as an independent family company. The name 'Frédérique Constant' has been created from two names:

Frederique Schreiner, 1881-1969
Constant: Constant Stas, 1880-1967.

The current Managing Director of Frédérique Constant S.A., Peter Stas, is a 4th generation descendant of Mr. Constant Stas, who founded his company in 1904 with his friend Frederique Schreiner started to making printed clock dials for the watch industry. Already in the early 18th century, Geneve became known as a major center for the creation and production of the timepieces. Frederique Schreiner and Constant Stas get within a long and full of passion production step with their brand that composed of the combination of their names. Later on; the Grand child Peter Stas retstructured the company with his wife and started to watch manufacturing.

Their first collection has introduced to the market which comprising six models fitted with Swiss movements and assembled by a watchmaker in Geneva. Right after; Frédérique Constant has exhibited at the World Watch, Clock and Jewellery Show in Basel since 1995.

Right after the launched of the Heart Beat, expansion of the production covered much new center for production and that’ why; in 2006, the company moved to a brandnew building in Plan-les-Ouates. The new Frédérique Constant manufacture measures 3200 square meters, divided over four floors.
